How to Send Fanmail
1. Do Your Research!
Search online for good websites where they provide celebrity fan-mail addresses. From my own research, some of them request a monthly payment. I tend to stay away from those as mostly they are duplicate addresses which can be found on free websites. It's a money scam.
2. Get The Package Ready to Go
Once you've selected an address, it's time to get the everything ready to send.
Send: 2 Envelopes (1 to put everything in and one for the celeb to return everything to you (self seal type)
(8 x 10 size works best incase they wish to send you their own photos)
Stamps, IRC( International Reply Coupon) - Make sure there is enough to cover return postage from their country.
Photo/s - optional (best to send something, even a index card incase they don't have any photos of their own.
Short Letter of Request - Make it short. Celebrities don't have time to read 3 pages of writing! They are BUSY!
example of letter to celebrity: Dear: (Name of celebrity)
Congratulations on your recent film (name of movie). I am a big fan.
Could you please send me an autographed photo/s or sign my photo/s?
Thank you for your generosity,
(Your name)
3. Record
Once everything is ready to mail, record the date you send the package out. This will help keep track of how long you waited. Also, if you are sending out multiple requests, record their names to keep track! Celebrities usually don't respect duplicate letters. They have ways of knowing who sent what.
4. Send Away!
Once completing step 3, just pop everything into the mailbox!
5. Wait
Now you have to be patient. It can take as little as 1 week or as long as 1 year for a response (depending on their location relative to you). If you have waiting more than 1 year, you can try again to the same address or research incase it has been changed.
6. Recieve A Response
Congrats! You've recieved a reply! No frame your treasured piece of put it into safe keeping!
